Product Pricing Management

Euphoria Bahi provides a structured and flexible pricing system for managing product prices across customers, batches, quantities and effective periods.

The system automatically determines the applicable selling price whenever a product is added to a quotation, sales order or invoice. This enables consistent pricing while accommodating different customer categories, purchase volumes, batches and commercial arrangements.

How the Pricing Process Works

Euphoria Bahi validates the product, customer, quantity and pricing period before calculating the final unit price.

1

The user selects a product and, where applicable, a batch.

2

The system retrieves the applicable product price record.

3

The customer’s assigned price level is checked.

4

The relevant item-level pricing rule is identified.

5

The transaction quantity is matched with the appropriate quantity slab.

6

Effective dates and availability status are validated.

7

The final unit price is calculated using the configured method.

8

When no special rule applies, the default sale price is used.

Pricing Parameters

The following parameters can be used to determine the final selling price.

Product

Pricing rules are maintained separately for each product or service.

Customer Price Level

Customers can be assigned to pricing categories such as:

  • Retail Customer
  • Dealer
  • Distributor
  • Wholesaler
  • Institutional Customer

A customer may also remain without a price-level assignment.

Product Batch

Different batches of the same product can carry different:

  • Purchase prices
  • MRPs
  • Default sale prices
  • Manufacturing dates
  • Expiry dates
Quantity

Different prices or discounts can be configured according to the quantity purchased.

Effective Period

Prices can be configured to apply during a specific date range.

Availability Status

A price record can be enabled or disabled without deleting it from the system.

Pricing Method

The final price can be calculated using a fixed price, percentage discount, fixed discount amount or markup percentage.

Customer-Wise Pricing

Each customer can be mapped to a price level or billed using the default sale price.

Customer Without a Price Level

When no price level is assigned, the default sale price from the applicable product-price record is used.

Applicable Price = Default Sale Price

Customer With a Price Level

When a price level is assigned, Euphoria Bahi:

  1. Retrieves the applicable MRP and default sale price.
  2. Identifies the rule configured for the customer’s price level.
  3. Checks the transaction quantity and effective date.
  4. Calculates the final selling price.
When no matching price-level rule is available, the system falls back to the default sale price.

Supported Pricing Methods

Choose the method that best represents your customer and product pricing policy.

Fixed Price

A final unit price can be directly configured for a product and price level.

Example
MRP: ₹1,000
Dealer fixed price: ₹850
Applicable unit price: ₹850

The configured price is used directly without further calculation.

Percentage Discount

A percentage discount can be applied to the selected base price, normally the product batch MRP.

Example
Batch MRP: ₹1,000
Dealer discount: 15%
Applicable unit price: ₹850
Fixed Discount Amount

A fixed amount can be deducted from the selected base price.

Example
Batch MRP: ₹1,000
Discount amount: ₹120
Applicable unit price: ₹880
Markup Percentage

A percentage markup can be added to the purchase price or another selected base price.

Example
Purchase price: ₹700
Markup: 20%
Applicable unit price: ₹840

The system can validate that the calculated price does not exceed MRP where applicable.

Batch-Wise Pricing

Euphoria Bahi allows separate pricing records to be maintained for different batches of the same product. This is useful when the same product is received at different costs or carries different MRPs across batches.

Each batch-price record can include:

  • Batch number
  • Purchase price
  • Maximum Retail Price
  • Default sale price
  • Manufacturing date
  • Expiry date
  • Effective-from date
  • Effective-to date
  • Availability status
Batch Price Example
Batch Purchase Price MRP Default Sale Price
B001 ₹700 ₹1,000 ₹920
B002 ₹760 ₹1,100 ₹980

A dealer discount of 15% may apply to both batches, but the final selling price is calculated using the MRP of the selected batch.

Customer Batch Applicable Price
Customer without price level B001 ₹920
Dealer B001 ₹850
Dealer B002 ₹935

Quantity-Based Pricing

Businesses can configure separate prices or discounts for different quantity ranges. When a transaction is prepared, the system automatically selects the applicable quantity slab.

Quantity-based pricing can be combined with:

  • Customer price levels
  • Batch-wise pricing
  • Fixed prices
  • Discounts
  • Markups
  • Effective date ranges
Example Dealer Quantity Slabs
Quantity Dealer Pricing
1–9 units 10% discount
10–49 units 15% discount
50 units and above 20% discount

Price Validity Management

Every product-price record and item-level pricing rule can have an effective period.

This allows businesses to:

  • Configure future prices in advance
  • Maintain seasonal pricing
  • Introduce temporary discounts
  • Close old prices without deleting them
  • Preserve historical prices for reports and audits

An open-ended price can remain active until it is replaced or manually disabled.

Price Availability Control

The availability status acts as an administrative control for each pricing record.

A pricing record may be disabled when:

  • The price was entered incorrectly
  • The batch has been blocked or recalled
  • A duplicate record was created
  • The price has been temporarily suspended
  • The batch should no longer be sold
  • The record must be retained for historical reporting

Disabling a record prevents it from being used in new transactions without removing it from the database.

Manufacturing and Expiry Information

Manufacturing and expiry dates can be maintained with each batch-price record and displayed across operational and customer-facing documents.

  • Sales invoices
  • Purchase reports
  • Batch-wise stock reports
  • Expiry reports
  • Product movement reports
  • Customer-facing documents
Useful for Expiry-Sensitive Products
Medicines
Food products
Cosmetics
Chemicals
Packaged goods
Other expiry-sensitive products

Pricing Priority

The system determines the final selling price in the following order.

1 Identify the applicable product and batch.
2 Retrieve the active product-price record.
3 Check whether the customer has a price level.
4 Find the corresponding item-level pricing rule.
5 Identify the applicable quantity slab.
6 Validate the effective dates.
7 Apply the configured pricing method.
8 Use the default sale price when no special rule applies.
